I explore how color can transform memories, people, and places into emotional narratives.
My work stems from a desire to tell stories—stories I find in people, places, Brazilian culture, and the memories and emotional bonds we build around them. I am not necessarily interested in depicting these stories exactly as they happened, but rather in recreating them through my own imagination.
Color is the driving force behind this process. It allows me to establish atmospheres, bridge different times and places, and transform what I observe. For me, color is not merely an aesthetic choice; it is a way of perceiving and reorganizing the world.
The feminine holds a central place in this exploration. I am drawn to the strength found in the feminine as a generative principle—a force that creates, embraces, transforms, and gives life. I recognize this same energy in the earth, the waters, and nature itself. Perhaps that is why my female figures often blend with the fauna, flora, and natural elements, as if they belonged to the same landscape.
I do not seek to fully define this relationship; painting is the very space where I attempt to understand it. Every woman, landscape, and symbol that appears in my work is part of this quest.
I am also interested in the relationship between people and the places they inhabit. A city, a landscape, a festival, a belief, or a memory can serve as the starting point for a piece. I gather these elements and freely rearrange them, creating narratives where reality, memory, and imagination coexist.
My work might take the form of a canvas painting, a mural, or a composition on tiles. While the medium and scale may vary, the underlying inquiry remains: using color to transform stories, emotions, and memories into images—and, through them, exploring our relationship with the feminine, nature, and the places to which we belong.
